BEFORE YOU INSTALL!

- Make sure your Wildcat Directory is IN YOUR PATH! The program will exit with an error
if it is not!

- Your Wildcat Server MUST BE RUNNING before you start this program!

Installation:

1) Unzip the WCEN3.Zip to a temporary directory using a 32BIT Unzip Utility such as WinZip.

2) Create a directory named NOTIFY under your Wildcat HTTP directory. Unzip the contents
HTMLDocs.Zip to this directory.

3) Run the WCEU.EXE to extract the Main Program install files to your Temp Directory.

4) Run Setup.exe which is extracted to your Temp directory. This will start the WCEmail
Utils Setup Wizard.

5) Create a link on one of your pages to the NOTIFY.HTM page. This will allow your Users
to Subscribe to WCEmail Utils.

6) Read the rest of this Documentation IN FULL before starting WCEMail Utils!

What was Installed in the Notify Directory?

These files were installed in the NOTIFY directory you created under your
Wildcat HTTP Directory:

Notify.HTM - Main page for wcEmail Notify.
WceSubscribe.HTM - Page for Users to SUBSCRIBE to WCEmail Utils.
	WceREMOVE.HTM - Page for Users to UN-Subscribe
WceUPDATE.HTM - Page for Users to update their E-Mail address
WceFORWARD.HTM - Page for Users to setup Email Forwarding
WceSTOP.HTM - Page to turn off Email Forwarding
6 .gif files associated with these pages.

SETUP and Configuration:

1) Start WCEmail Utils. This will create the Notify.mdb and other necessary files
in the WCEmail Notify Home Directory.

2) The Setup Program will appear.

3) Setup the various fields and options for proper operation. ALL FIELDS must be
filled out for WCEmail Utils to work. An explanation and suggested settings are explained below.

Server Machine Name: This is the name of your Wildcat SERVER machine.

Node to Use: This is the Node you want WCEmail Utils to use to Log on for
 	Scans.

Administrators Email address: This is the email address of the System
Administrator. WCEmail Utils. will send administrative messages to this
	person.

Database Name: This field is hard coded in this release.

Notify of New Mail: This option should always be checked. This tells
WCEmail Utils whether or not to do a scan for any New Personal Mail left
for a person on your System. WCEmail Utils will send them a Message
Notifying them that there is Mail for them on your System.

Do Email Forwarding: This option tells WCEmail Utils whether or not to
Forward any Email sent to them on your System to another Email Address.
This will also forward Email attachments to the other Email Address. They
must be Subscribed to NOTIFY before they can set themselves up for
 	FORWARDING!

Use Email Subscribe: This option tells WCEmail Utils whether or not to
allow your Users to Subscribe to WCEmail Utils features. You may want to
have them send YOU an Email to be setup for this Service for more Admin
 	control.

Use Admin Pager Notification: If you have an Alpha-Numeric Pager that can
be accessed via Email, this option tells WCEmail Utils whether or not to
send Messages sent with a special SUBJECT to your Pager.

Do activity Scan: This option tells WCEmail Utils whether or not to do a
scan for any activity in your conferences. There is no vehicle for Users
to auto subscribe to this feature at this time. You must set them up
manually! On a busy system, this feature can result in Many E-Mails being
sent to each and every user! Use this feature AT YOUR OWN RISK! Recommend
	leaving this UN-CHECKED.
(This feature is currently under development and is disabled).

4) Click on the "Notify" tab:

NOTIFY Scan Interval in Minutes: How often WCEmail Utils should do a scan
	For new personal Mail.

ACTIVITY Scan Interval in Days: (This option currently has no effect).

Edit Notify Message Button: Press this to Edit the Message sent by WCEmail
Utils to notify your Users of new personal Mail.

	SUBSCRIBE EMAIL SETUP:

Username for Subscribe Messages: This is name that the Subscribe messages
will go to. This will also be the name of the User that this program will
 	create.

--> CAUTION! If you change this name from the default (WCEmail Notify) you
will have to change the subscribe HTML pages!!!!

Password: This is the Password of the WCEmail Notify User you created
 	above.

Security Level: This is the Security level for the Username above. This
User MUST have access to conference 0 and be able to log on to the Node
you selected on the previous page!!!

Create User button: This will automatically create the user with the Info
provided above. WCEmail Utils WILL NOT run without this User!!!

5) If you are going to use the Pager functions of WCEmail Utils, Select the
"PAGER" Tab. If not, proceed to step 6.

Message Subject: This is the "Secret" signal to tell WCEmail Utils to send
this Message to your Pager. This MUST BE 8 Caractures.

Pager Email address: This is the Email address to access your Pager.

A word about Pager Notification:

You must keep in mind that Alpha-Numeric Pagers have a limit on how long the message can be.
Instruct anyone that you give the "Secret subject" to that they must keep the Message short.
This feature strips of the Headers on messages sent to it via Email and also strips out the
Carriage returns and line feeds so more text can be sent.

This option can also be used to send these priority messages to another Email address.
This function will strip the Email Headers and Carriage returns and line feeds out of the
Message and therefore will make the Message hard to read.

6) Select the "Mail" tab. This will setup the internal Mailer.

SMTP Mail Host: The Hostname of your SMTP Server. This would be the
machine name of the machine running wcSMTP or your ISP's SMTP Server name.

SMTP Host IP Address: The IP Address of your wcSMTP Machine or your ISP's
 	SMTP server IP address.

Mail From: This is what is entered the "From" field on Email messages sent
 	by WCEmail Utils.

Mail Subject: This is inserted in the "Subject" of Email messages sent by
WCEmail Utils Notifying of New Personal Mail waiting.

7) Select the "Database" tab.

Database Tab: This gives you manual access to the Notify.mdb. You can add
or Delete Users, Update information or set them up for Email
Forwarding. This would be a good time to add yourself!! WCEmail Utils
will not run with no one in the database!!!!! THE ADD NEW BUTTON MUST BE
PRESSED BEFORE YOU CAN ADD A USER!

8) If you previously Registered This program, Push the Register button to enter
your Registration code.

9) Push Apply to save the settings, Push OK to exit the Setup Program.

10) Exit WCEmail Utils completely then restart the program. You will be presented with
    the Main Operating screen.

The Black window will show the program's actions as it's doing them, helpful in debugging.

The White window shows the internal mailer's actions as it's sending Mail, also a debugging tool.

Program Status: This describes the current state of the program.
Idle: Between scans, active but waiting.
Stopped: Program started but scanning deactivated.
		Scanning: Actually performing a scan.
Checking Mail: Checking Conf. 0 for messages to itself.

Scan Interval: This is the minutes between New Mail scans chosen in the Setup Program.

Stop/Start Notify: This starts and stops the Scanning Timer in Notify. The program status will
show Stopped when the Stop button is pressed.

Force Scan: This forces the scanning engine in Notify to run. Will not be available if Notify
is stopped.

Setup: Used to access the Setup Program in Notify.

Database: Gives you access to the Notify Database.

Statistics: Pops up a screen with the Programs Stats.

About: Pops up an About Box. This is also where you enter your Registration code.

Exit: Exits WCEmail Notify.

11) Click the "Stop Notify" Button.

12) WCEmail Notify can be Minimized to a System Tray Icon by Clicking on the "-" in the
Upper Right corner of the Form. By Right Clicking on the System Tray Icon, you can bring
up a Pop-up menu allowing you to Open the program, Exit the Program or view the stats.

13) Click on the Database Button, You will be presented with the Data entry screen.
WCEmail Notify needs an entry in the Database to run so; you will enter yourself as the
first entry in the Database.

14) The Data Entry Screen is where you can Add or Modify Subscribers Info.

15) Click the Add Button (IMPORTANT! You MUST click the Add Button before adding any
entries to the Database! If you do not, an error will occur!)

16) Type the name you log-on to the system with in the Name field.

17) Type your Password in the Password field

18) Type the Email Address you want the Notification Messages sent to. You are now setup
to be notified of New personal Messages sent to your System. The rest of the Fields will
be explained later in this document.

19) Click Update to Update the Database.

20) Click Close to close the Data Entry form.

21) Click FIND to find a certain User in the Database.

NOTE: The "Scan for Activity and the Conferences fields are not used at this time.

22) Click Start Notify to start WCEmail Notify.

23) Click Force Scan to force a scan of your Message Base.

24) WCEmail Notify must be left running at all times, it uses very little system resources
while it is idle. The only time any load is placed on your system is during a scan and this
load is Very light. There is a heavier load placed when the Internal Mailer runs to send an
E-Mail message, but this load is also minimal.
