; CONNECTION SETUP
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 200 ConSetup: BiModem name
!NOINDEX

This is the name of the BIMODEM-protocol, including path.
If it is left blank, Portal will NOT try to use BiModem mail transfer.

Remember to copy your BIMODEM.CFG to PORTAL.BMC.
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 201 ConSetup: Max FullDuplex Baud
!NOINDEX

This is the maximum baud rate, your modem ALWAYS connects at full duplex.
Pure HST modems CANNOT connect full duplex at more than 2400.

See also: 202FullDuplex override.
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 202 ConSetup: FullDuplex override
!NOINDEX

These strings are used to tell Portal, that, even though you conneted at more
than 201Max. FullDuplex baud, you ARE running full duplex.
The idea is, that your modem will report CONNECT 9600/V32 or similar, if it
is connecting full duplex, so in this case, a Max. FullDuplex baud of 2400,
and a FullDuplex override like "/V32" would work fine.
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 203 ConSetup: Override NoSend
!NOINDEX

If this option is set to 'Y', FullDuplex mail transfers (Janus or BiMail) will
NOT respect the No-Send flag of the current event.
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 204 ConSetup: Use Janus
!NOINDEX

If you set this option to 'Y', Portal will also list the Janus-transfer method
in its capabilities. Janus is a full duplex protocol i.e. you may send AND
receive files at the same time, in mail sessions.

NOTE: This setting can be overridden in Nodes Setup.
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 205 ConSetup: Use EMSI handshake
!NOINDEX

If you set this option to 'Y', Portal will try to use the Extended Mail
System Identification (EMSI) before the normal YooHoo/2U2 handshake. If you
experience problems, using it, try disabling it, and try connecting to the
node again.

NOTE: This setting can be overridden in Nodes Setup.
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 206 ConSetup: Call faster systems
!NOINDEX

If you set this option to 'N', Portal will NOT call any systems which are
registered in the nodelist, with a faster baudrate than itself, this is
very useful, when you have more than one Portal sharing the same
161Dir&File: Outbound-directory, with different maximum modem speeds, to
keep a 2400 baud line from polling a 9600 baud node, or something similar.
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 207 ConSetup: Minimum BBS baud
!NOINDEX

Here you may specify a minimum baud rate, for human callers, to enter your
BBS-system.

See also: 208Slow caller infofile
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 208 ConSetup: Slow caller infofile
!NOINDEX

This file will be shown to any human caller, if the baud rate is less than the
one specified in 207Minimum BBS baud
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 209 ConSetup: User errorlevel
!NOINDEX

If you want a simple setup, with only one error level for users, in your
batch-file, you may specify the error-level here. If you specify zero here,
Portal will exit with an errorlevel of baud rate divided by 100.
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 210 ConSetup: Call Frequency
!NOINDEX

If both 187Event: Call frequency and 188Event: Max. delay of an event is
set to ZERO, this values is used instead.

See also: 211Max call delay
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 211 ConSetup: Global Max. delay
!NOINDEX

If both 187Event: Call frequency and 188Event: Max. delay of an event is
set to ZERO, this values is used instead.

See also: 210Call frequency
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 212 ConSetup: Zone Mail Hour
!NOINDEX

Each zone have a defined Zone Mail Hour, which is the time, where all systems
should be able and ready to process matrix-mail.
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 213 ConSetup: Max RINGING
!NOINDEX

Here you specify after how many "RINGING" Portal should abort an outgoing
call. If this value is zero there is no max. (Portal will then abort after 60
seconds or when your modem returns "NO CARRIER").
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 214 ConSetup: Press ESC prompt
!NOINDEX

This text should be used to inform human callers that they must do something
to enter the BBS-system. Depending on your setup, it could be to press ESC,
or another character, if you are using multiple BBS system.
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 215 ConSetup: Doing mail text
!NOINDEX

This text should be used to inform human callers that they have called during
a mail event.
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 216 ConSetup: Enter BBS Text
!NOINDEX

This entry is shown to human callers, when Portal is spawning to the
BBS-software, it could be something like "Loading BBS, please wait" or
similar.
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 217 ConSetup: Curmudgeon
!NOINDEX

If set to Yes, Portal will hangup if an unknown system is calling you. This
options should ONLY be used if you have problems with unknown systems sending
mailbombs to you.

NOTE: If you want to use this system, make sure that your nodelist is
up-to-date and contains all zones - as mail from a system not in your nodelist
will be refused!!!!
;
;-----------------------------------------------------------
!TOPIC 218 ConSetup: Send Dummy Packet on ZModem
!NOINDEX

Enable this option if you get the error message "Can't get attention"
when connecting other systems using ZModem transmission protocol.
This problems sometimes appears if there is no outgoing mail for the
other side.
